Both pieces are made from 100% cotton with a Mangalgiri handloom weave from the Mangalgiri region. Cotton is the material; Mangalgiri identifies the weaving tradition.

The kurta

The front-open, medium-length blue Mangalgiri kurta has a high collar and three-quarter sleeves. Pleating finishes the sleeve edges, which are decorated with cotton-bell detailing. Buttons in different colours and coloured buttonholes introduce a playful contrast, completed by touches of hand embroidery. These details are spread across the design rather than concentrated in a single decorative panel.

The pant

The pant’s bottom hem has a band, a pleat and a side placket. Buttons and cotton bells decorate this hem treatment, while coloured buttonholes, differently coloured buttons and hand-embroidered touches continue the design language of the kurta. The result is a coordinated set whose detailing extends from the sleeves to the pant hems.
